New River Trail State Park features a 57-mile trail,
Virginia Creeper National Recreation Trail goes for 34 miles, and a quarter of the nation's
Appalachian Trail
goes through several counties — Bedford, Bland, Giles, Greene, Rockbridge and Smyth.
