Scenic Drives and Places

Mountain Regions Virginia has more than 2,500 miles of scenic byways and the famous Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway. Fall is the ideal time to hike or bike in the mountains, too! New River Trail State Park features a 57-mile trail, Virginia Creeper National Recreation Trail goes for 34 miles, and a quarter of the nation's Appalachian Trail goes through several counties — Bedford, Bland, Giles, Greene, Rockbridge and Smyth.
