    Shenandoah Valley

    Covington - Jun 28-29 - Covington Cork and Pork Festival - Annual Covington Cork and Pork Festival features a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned barbeque competition. Come see dozens of professional and amateur barbeque cooks put their knowledge to the test.

    Clear Brook - Jun 28-29 - Hogging Up BBQ & Music Festival - Winchester's hottest new festival brings a three day barbecue and music festival held at the Frederick County Fairgrounds to raise money for CancerCare! Come hungry and eat all the barbecue!

    Winchester - Aug 10 - Peach Festival - Peach cobbler, peach pie, peach turnovers, peach ice cream, fresh peaches GALORE!!!! Enjoy music from 1 to 3 pm while sitting on the front porch or in the picnic pavilion.

    Middletown - Aug 18 - Richard's Fruit Market Peach Festival - Peaches, peaches everywhere - and a full day of fun. Haywagon rides, barrel train rides, and all the jumps you can handle on the bouncy-bounce. Lots of kids games and face painting too, plus music and a petting zoo. Oh, and did we mention peaches? 

    Lexington - Sep 14 - Rockbridge Pie Festival - There's nothing better than homemade pie! And at the Pie Festival, you'll have your choice from many different recipes! Join in the pie contest, children's activities, and the Mincemeat Mile swim.

    Dayton - Oct 5 - Dayton Autumn Celebration - Three hundred vendors of foods and crafts! Celebrate autumn in Dayton!

     

     

    Blue Ridge Highlands

    Critz - Jun 15 - Bushels & Barrels Local Food, Wine and Beer Festival - Attendees will meet producers and growers throughout the region and have the opportunity to purchase their goods and services. Local artisans will have their works available for purchase. Two local bands, After Jack and the Les Moore Trio will open for the event headliner, The Reflex, a fantastic 80's cover band from Virginia Beach.

    Floyd - Sep 14 - Black Dog Music Festival presents Wine and BBQ Festival - Join us when the crisp fall air makes you think spicy fun! It's an official Kansas City BBQ Association sanctioned competition. Spend a smoky day with guest pit masters offering barbeque for sale, their sauce competitions, live music, wine tastings, vendors and more!

    Boones Mill - Sep 21 - Boones Mill Appple Festival - All day fun filled event on Main Street. Outdoor family oriented event. The festivities will include live music, food, crafts, a band concert, and a juried art exhibit. Miss Apple Festival will be crowned during the day.

    Floyd - Sep 21 - Floyd Harvest Festival County Fair - It's a day to celebrate Floyd County's natural beauty and heritage in local arts, crafts and agricultural traditions. Full day of exhibits, live music, heritage art & crafts & country living exhibits & demonstrations, games, foods and much more.

     

     

    Chesapeake Bay

    Lancaster - Sep 6 - Bay Seafood Festival - Guests enjoy oysters, soft-shelled crabs, crab cakes, scallops, steamed shrimp, fish, fried shrimp, clam chowder, pork barbecue, french-fried sweet potatoes, french fries, hush puppies, corn on the cob, salad, coleslaw, ice cream, soda, beer, wine, bottled water and mixed drinks. Tickets sell out quickly and are not sold at the gate. No children, please.

    Urbanna - Nov 1-2 - Urbanna Oyster Festival - Join in The Official Oyster Festival of the Commonwealth! Food - Arts & Crafts - Fireman's Parade - Oyster Festival Parade - Waterfront educational activities - Entertainment - Oyster Festival Queen & Little Miss Spat - Oyster Shucking Contest.

     

       

    Central Virginia

    Ashland - Jun 8 - Ashland Strawberry Faire - This free, family friendly arts and crafts festival also features a large variety of food vendors, antique booths, “Kids Zone”, live music & entertainment, and local business home-shows - all to benefit Hanover County non-profit organizations and scholarships.

    Afton - Jun 15 - Edible Landscaping's All About Fruit Day - Come visit us and tour the orchard, taste Juneberries, blueberries, mulberries, blueberries, red and black raspberries and strawberries and more. Learn about horticultural techniques, take advantage of a plant sale, bring a box lunch and picnic.

    Wakefield - Jun 21-22 - Blueberry Jam - Drewry Farms will host Blueberry Jam Festival to kick off the berry picking and produce season with plenty of fresh, local foods.

    Palmyra - Jun 22 - BBQ, Bands & Brews - Championship BBQ, live bands, and micro brews from Virginia breweries. In addition, we'll offer a Kid Zone, and feature vendors of food, arts & crafts, plus assorted products and services to round out this "event for the whole family."

    Mechanicsville - Jul 13 - Hanover Tomato Festival - The renowned Hanover tomato has its own festival and it's free! More than 200 arts and crafts vendors, entertainment, food, and family fun.

    Nellysford - Aug 3 - Blackberry Harvest Festival at Hill Top Berry Farm & Winery - Pig pickin' platter lunch which will be ready at 11am. Fee, includes wine tasting and you get to keep your glass and hang out to visit vendors, sample gelato and listen to music. Blackberries are available for you pick at the usual per quart price.

    Richhmond - Aug 9-10 - Filipino Festival - Enjoy authentic cuisine such as lumpia, pancit, adobo, lechon, halo-halo and more with San Miguel beer or your favorite Virginia wine. Some vegetarian dishes will be available. Several popular local bands including Janet Martin and D'Originals will perform live. Special performances by the Latin Ballet of Virginia plus Filipino line-dancing, too.

    Richmond - Aug 11 - Annual Carytown Watermelon Festival presented by Martin's - Three thousand watermelons, 80 musicians, 100+ exhibitors, and YOU! Family fun at its finest.

    Madison - Aug 31 - Taste of the Mountains Main Street Festival - More than food (though you'll have to try the Volunteer Fire Department's famous steak sandwiches), this festival has quite a variety of music, loads of kids' activities, and much more.

    Afton - Sept. 14 - Edible Landscaping's Fall Fruit Festival - Edible Landscaping's Fall Fruit Festival Orchard tours, seasonal fruit tasting, lectures and guest speakers, all about EDIBLE Landscaping for your home. Grafting demo, pest control advice, pruning instruction.

    Lovingston - Sep 28-29 and Oct 19-20 - Apple Harvest & Apple Butter Festival at Drumheller's Orchard - Featuring apples, apple butter, cider, honey, country hams, pumpkins and baskets. Food available for purchase, apple sling shot, arts and crafts, bouncy houses, hayrides and corn maze.

    Richmond - Oct 6 - Carytown Food & Wine Festival - This year's Food & Wine Festival will prove to be the best yet as renowned Virginia wineries will once again be back to educate and provide samples of their succulent fermentations along with plenty of great food from local restaurants.

    Roseland - Oct 11-13 - The Festy Experience - The Festy Experience at Devils Backbone Concert Grounds. Amazing bands, superior local food and world class beers.

    Amherst - Oct 12-13 - Virginia Wine and Garlic Festival - The Virginia Wine and Garlic Festival embraces food, wine, live entertainment, arts, crafts, and GARLIC! There are five stages with constant music and entertainment, including Garlic Cooking, Garlic King, Queen, and Jr. Queen Contests.

    Afton - Oct 26 - Edible Landscaping's Persimmon Festival - It's all about Persimmons and Pomegranates! Persimmon and pomegranate tasting, see mature trees, ask questions. Purchase a persimmon or pomegranate tree!

     

     

    Coastal Virginia - Eastern Shore

    Chincoteague Island - Oct 12 - Chincoteague Island Oyster Festival - This is an all-you-can-eat affair of oysters prepared many different ways, crabs, hush puppies, clam chowder, hot dogs and much more. There will be live entertainment, souvenirs, raffles, and contests.

    Chincoteague Island - Oct 19 - Chili Chowder Cookoff - A live band, arts and crafts vendors, and boat rides will be a few of the offerings. The main attraction is the food---lots of it!!

     

     

    Coastal Virginia - Hampton Roads

    Norfolk - Jun 6 - AT&T HarborFEAST Seafood Sampler - This all-inclusive seafood and cold beverage social with live music along the Elizabeth River is the kick off event to the 36th Annual Norfolk Harborfest.

    Norfolk - Jun 21-23 - Annual AT&T Bayou Boogaloo & Cajun Food Festival - The 24th Annual AT&T Bayou Boogaloo & Cajun Food Festival delivers the heart and soul of Louisiana to visitors of Town Point Park in true Cajun style. From New Orleans to Norfolk, two stages featuring national recording artists provide musical entertainment for the weekend. Also on hand will be many local New Orleans musicians and artists who are sure to get your hands clapping, feet two-steppin' and heart pumping throughout the weekend.

    Surry - Jul 20-21 - Pork, Peanut and Pine Festival - Bring an appetite for some of the best food Surry has to offer and don't miss the BBQ cook-off.

    Hampton - Oct 5 - Five Alarm & Festival Chili Cook-Off - Toss on a sweater for a "chili" day in downtown Hampton! The Five-Alarm Festival returns to Carousel Park. Teams will put their secret chili recipes to the test beginning at noon with a public cook-off lasting until 2:30 p.m.

    Suffolk - Oct. 10 - Suffolk Ruritan Club Shrimp Feast - All-you-can-eat steamed and Old Bay seasoned shrimp, fried chicken, North Carolina bar-b-que, coleslaw, potato salad and rolls. Live musical entertainment. Tickets required.

    Suffolk - Oct. 10-13 - Suffolk Peanut Festival - The popular event offers a variety of activities for the entire family including regional and national entertainment, fireworks, a shrimp feast, a demolition derby, peanut butter sculpture contest, carnival rides, craft exhibits and more! Free & open to the public.

     

     

    Northern Virginia

    Culpeper - Jun 6 - Culpeper Fest - CulpeperFest is a community, fun-filled event with delicious Pork BBQ, BBQ Beef Brisket, Pit Cooked Chicken pieces, Italian Sausages, Hot Dogs with all the trimmings and Bruster’s Real Ice Cream!

    Purcellville - Jun 15 - Breaux Vineyards' 16th Annual Cajun Festival and Crawfish Boil - Join Breaux Vineyards as we celebrate our 16th Annual Cajun Festival! Be prepared to boogie the day away with Live Zydeco & Cajun music by the Dixie Power Trio and Little Red & The Renegades. We will show you how to "Laissez les bon temps roulez!". Cajun cuisine will be for sale including crawfish, jambalaya, muffalettas, gumbo, and more!

    Alexandria - Jun 22 - Alexandria Food and Wine Festival - This is a Free event to attend; however tickets are needed to sample food and beverages.

    Culpeper - Sept. 21 - Culpeper Fiesta - Sample foods, discover new friends, and dance the night away with ORQUESTA CURARE at this free family event promoting Latino cultural awareness and fun. Check out these salsa kings, and queens! Activities and piñatas for the kids.

    Manassas - Sept. 28 - Bands, Brews and Barbecue - Entrance into the Festival will be FREE! Attendees may purchase individual beer sampling tickets inside the gate. Please make sure to bring a valid ID. Picnic on the lawn, while you enjoy some of Virginia’s finest barbecue or listen to everything from classic rock to jazz.

    Culpeper - Oct. 13 - Taste of Culpeper - a wine, food, and arts festival - Experience the very best in Virginia wines, local cuisine, regional artists, and live music.

     

     

    Southern Virginia

    South Boston - Jun 7 - Virginia Cantaloupe Festival - An evening of great entertainment, a tantalizing menu, and of course, plenty of cantaloupe. Tickets must be purchased in advance. The event will be held for the 1st time on the front lawn of the elegant Berry Hill Resort & Conference Center, a National Historic Register property.

    Boydton - Aug 24 - Boydton's Big Bad BBQ Battle - This year's festivities will include the BBQ Competition, Corn-hole Tournament, street vendors, and a street dance featuring JB and the Get Down Browns!

    South Boston - Sep 28 - South Boston Harvest Festival - This festival has something for everyone, young and old alike. Crafters line the streets with handmade items from wreaths, to wooden chairs, to toys and more. Music fills the air from the two stages of live entertainment. And food is available for every taste. Get a turkey leg and lemonade, BBQ and soft drinks and don't forget those Cinn-Sational Cinnamon Rolls! The kids will enjoy the pony rides, face painting, pumpkin painting, scarecrow making, balloon sculpting clowns, magicians and the bounce houses.

    Alberta - Oct. 12 - Taste of Brunswick Festival & Cook-Off - Arts and crafts, kids rides, barrel train rides, corn crib, wagon rides, stage coach rides, huge car show, antique tractor show, live Bluegrass bands all day, World Championship Brunswick Stew cook-off w/ $1,500.00 in prizes, Civil War reenactment, museum display, and so much more!

    Brookneal - Nov. 2 - Bluegrass, Barbecue & Brew Festival - The Bluegrass, Barbecue and Brew Festival at Red Hill … embracing the flavors and sounds of southern Virginia at the home of Virginia’s passionate patriot and fiery fiddler!

    South Hill - Nov. 13 - Shriner's Seafood Festival - Enjoy seafood, music and fun with the South Hill Shrine Club at this annual festival.
