Student Groups Learn and SAVE!
Each spring, these two Festivals offer unparalleled opportunities to explore the beauty and power of the arts with students, while inspiring teachers to enhance and expand their approach to teaching. The 2010 Festival promises to be the most spectacular season yet! Among the world-class performers will be Britain's acclaimed Royal Birmingham Ballet in its spectacular production of Swan Lake, with the Virginia Symphony; the hilarious Reduced Shakespeare Company; the East Coast premiere of an eagerly anticipated new staging of the musical theater masterwork, Leonard Bernstein's Mass; acclaimed classical musicians and ensembles from around the world; and must-see performances by great pop, bluegrass, jazz, folk, and world music artists, plus the Virginia International Tattoo. There are many ways to participate:

  • Attend a special student performance
  • Get an insider's glimpse of the performing arts at a rehearsal and take a backstage tour
  • Join in a pre or post performance discussion with the performers
  • Give your students a one-of-a-kind opportunity to study with internationally acclaimed artists in a master class

  2. Since we are so pleased to have your group attending the Virginia Arts Festival, we would love to greet you and welcome you when your bus arrives. Please ask for this service at the time of your booking so we can make sure we have you scheduled.

With 850 international performers including many of your favorite groups from the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard, the Virginia International Tattoo is truly a perfect show for groups of all ages and interests! The 2010 Tattoo will thrill with music, majesty, and might!

  5. Discounts are available for groups of 15 and more. Adult group rates represent savings of up to 15% and student group prices are 50% off full ticket prices (unless otherwise noted).
  6. VIP Ticketing Service - The Virginia Arts Festival is pleased to offer this service, so whether your group has difficulty with stairs, or you're working on a student budget, we will assist in finding and holding the right seats for your group.
  7. Bus groups receive complimentary tickets for driver and escort when at least 25 tickets are purchased.
  8. Parking and Drop-Off/Pick-Up - We provide you and/or your bus driver with information on dropping off and picking up your group as well as available parking at each venue.
  9. We have student performance opportunities galore.

For more than a decade, the Virginia Arts Festival has brought great artists from around the world to the cities and communities of Hampton Roads, making this historic, recreation-rich region a center for culture and the arts. Considered one of the premiere cultural events in the mid-Atlantic, the Virginia Arts Festival showcases performing artists and companies from around the world, presenting more than 80 performances, events and education programs to guests over seven spectacular weeks.
