Major scenes were shot on the streets of Petersburg and several buildings received faux facades. The filming touched many businesses here - props from antique stores, restaurants, etc.

Lincoln's 1865 Visit to Virginia
During the Siege of Petersburg Lincoln and his family came to Virginia, arriving March 24, 1865. Richmond fell April 3, 1865, at which time Lincoln went to the former White House of the Confederacy.
