Circa 1905, originally an opera house and Masonic Lodge in the downtown historic district of Clifton Forge, VA. Currently, the Historic Masonic Theatre is undergoing renovation as a performing arts center and movie theatre with 554 seats in the auditorium and balcony. The four floors of the Theatre also includes an upper-floor community room for banquets, receptions, reunions, birthdays, and large business gatherings. The lower level includes dressing rooms, concessions and an intimate performance space and stage. The Historic Masonic Theatre is scheduled to reopen in late spring 2016.
The Theatre's history includes performances by Count Basie and his Orchestra, appearances by Roy Rogers and Trigger, Gene Autry and Lash LaRue.
