What does Shirley Plantation have to offer that no other attraction can offer? Shirley Plantation is the most authentic and intact colonial attraction in America and has been continuously owned and operated by eleven generations of the same family since 1638. Shirley Plantation is Virginia's first plantation (1613), America's oldest family-owned business and farm (1638), and one of the first economic engines of the New World.
The guided tour of the Great House showcases 373 years of family stories as well as original family furniture, portraits, silver, and hand-carved woodwork. Also included with admissions are gardens and eight original colonial outbuildings surrounded by open fields and the expansive James River.
Today, Shirley continues as a working plantation, a private family home, a growing business, a National Historic Landmark, and an unbroken link between the past and the present.
Admission Fee: $11.00 for Adults. $7.50 for Youth (6-18). Discounts available for AAA, Seniors, and Military.
