Herndon is located in Fairfax County in the Northern Virginia region of Virginia. This historic town was once a major rail stop and the heart of Northern Virginia’s dairy farming country. It is located minutes from Washington Dulles International Airport.

Herndon Depot Museum houses railroad memorabilia, artifacts from World War II destroyer the U.S.S. Herndon, and other history from the town. The building itself dates back to the 1850s, and until 1968 it served as a train station in the dairy community.
