Isle Of Wight County, Virginia:

Isle of Wight County is located in the southeastern Hampton Roads region of Virginia on the James River.
The county has a public beach, four marinas, two campgrounds, a wildlife refuge area and facilities for gliders and ultralight sports. Fort Boykin Historical Park is situated high on the bluffs of the James River about 6 miles west of Smithfield.
Boykin's Tavern was owned by Francis Boykin, who served as a lieutenant with Patrick Henry and later camped with George Washington at Valley Forge. He donated the land for the courthouse and jail so that his tavern was conveniently located right next door for meals and refreshments needed by court officers and personnel, curious observers and travelers.
Golf is popular in the county, with Cypress Creek Golfers' Club in Smithfield open to the public.
