Pulaski County is located in the heart of the New River Valley in the Blue Ridge Highlands region of Virginia.

Pulaski County is home to the 4,500-acre Claytor Lake, which also features two state parks along its 100-mile shoreline. Claytor Lake State Park features opportunities for fishing, boating, swimming, water skiing as well as for camping, hiking and picnicking. The county also contains more than 19,000 acres of the Jefferson National Forest, the scenic New River and the Gatewood Reservoir Recreation Area. New River Trail State Parkextends 52 miles from the Town of Pulaski to the City of Galax along a converted Rails-to-Trails route for bicycling, horseback riding and hiking.
