Smyth County

Smyth County is in the Blue Ridge Highlands region of Virginia. Hungry Mother State Park is the county's most popular attraction, offering a variety of outdoor activities, such as swimming, fishing and boating on its 108-acre lake. More outdoor adventure can be found at nearby Mount Rogers National Recreation Area.

Several historical sites are located in the county, such as the Museum of the Mid-Appalachians, the Settlers' Museum and the Historic Town of Saltville, which provided the salt for the Confederate Army during the Civil War.

And don't miss The Lincoln Theatre in Marion, which was built in 1929 and is one of only three existing Mayan Revival-style theatres in America.
