The Northern Neck is located on the northernmost of three peninsulas on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. The area was originally called “the Athens of the new world” for its abundance of natural resources and is now commonly referred to as "Manhattan in Mayberry” due to its large design community. It’s a melting pot of different designers and artist who grew up here or enjoyed the escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life. Along with 6 wineries, a handful of bed and breakfasts including the Hope and Glory Inn, a full scale resort called the Tides Inn and more golf courses than you can shake a club at, it is never boring.
