Celebrate Independence Day at Patrick Henry's Red Hill, last home and burial place of Virginia's first governor. Patrick Henry visits and tells of his life and times. Fireworks, live music, re-enactments, tours, kids' games, arts & crafts vendors and more. Food, drink, and ice cream from vendors on site or bring a picnic lunch. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a peaceful day on the beautiful grounds of this home which Henry called "the garden spot of the world." Take a chance on a 50/50 drawing. Top the evening off with the magnificent fireworks display at dusk. Events begin at 3 p.m.; grounds open at 1 p.m. with admission gate closing at 9 p.m. Alcohol and personal fireworks, including sparklers, are strictly prohibited.
