Locality: York County Yorktown Battlefield Eastern end of Colonial Parkway Yorktown, VA 23690 Though known primarily for its role in the American Revolution, Yorktown’s Civil War history is commemorated annually during Memorial Day Weekend. Special activities at Yorktown include encampments, military and surgical demonstrations, a campfire program, a special walking tours. Wreath laying ceremonies take place in the Yorktown National Cemetery and Confederate Cemetery on Sunday.
