The 19th Annual Monacan powwow includes the finest Native arts and crafts from US and Canada for sale, dancing and drumming, storytelling, plenty to eat, and a unique sense of community in the foothills of Amherst County. Birds of prey including hawks, eagles and owls on exhibit. Grounds open daily at 10 AM. Saturday grounds close at 9 PM following dancing around the bonfire. Sunday grounds close at 6 PM. Route 130, 6 miles west of State Highway 29, in Elon, Virginia. Come rain or shine, and bring your lawnchairs. This is a family event; no drugs, alcohol or pets permitted.
