Show your patriotism, remember ancestors and those currently serving our country. Annual "Veterans Memorial Day" observance in Rocky Mount honors fallen veterans in all wars and military conflicts from the Franklin County area. Casualities in the name of freedom are honored on the Franklin County Courthouse Lawn. Period dress from 1700s and 1800s wars. Re-enactors from the War Between the States and American Revolutionary War. Rifle salute. Guest speaker Thomas Perry, author/historian/founder J.E.B. Stuart Preservation Trust. Flag ceremony by high school JROTC cadets. Wreath laying.
