Driving Directions

In February 2010, Thursday the 11th, enjoy once again a free Frances Litten Botanical Lecture. Toby Hemenway, author, educator, and pioneer in permaculture, will speak on Biomimicry. In past years, lecturers included Ian Robertson, author of garden expose, “Six Thousand Years Up the Garden Path," which recounts eons and ages of garden lore and legend, fact and fancy. Dr. James Duke, author of "The Green Pharmacy," also spoke on medicinal botanicals, and Dr. James Reveal lectured spanning three centuries of European botanical explorers and their impact on species identification and preservation. Inspiring and entertaining, audiences find these lectures imaginative and often humorous. The Litten Botanical Lectures honor Mrs. Frances Litten, 1929-2005. Mrs. Litten was an accomplished horticulturist, community servant, and educator.
