In 2009, ten wineries banded together (Bluemont Vineyard, Lost Creek Vineyard & Winery, Gadino Cellars, Philip Carter Winery, Fox Meadow Winery, Sunset Hills Vineyard, Swedenburg Estate Vineyard, Three Fox Vineyards, Winery at La Grange, and Veramar Vineyard) to form a new type of wine trail experience. We tied our rich wine heritage with our historical heritage, thus the General's Wine & History Trail was born.

These wineries offer distinctive, world-class quality wines. Experience our national history in your own backyard just outside of our nation's capital. Taste the passion in winemakers’ styles stemming from their heritages and/or aspirations. we have something for everyone!
