The Inn at Burwell Place 14th Annual Backyard Croquet Tournament

Step back in time with us and enjoy a leisurely game of croquet." The longest running backyard croquet tournament in the mid-Atlantic states. This backyard tournament began in 1997 as a party celebrating the anniversary of opening The Inn at Burwell Place in Salem, VA. Innkeeper Cindi Lou MacMackin asked guests for donations for the Salem Fire Department. Thus began the idea of combining a relaxing afternoon party with raising funds to provide assistance to children. The tournament has grown each year and the money raised by this event is targeted towards charities and programs working to address the needs of children in our community. Please note that croquet attire is white.
