Driving Directions

Martinsville-Henry County Family YMCA and Smith River Adventure Outfitters have teamed up to offer kayak classes for family members age 12 and up.

These classes will teach kayaking basics to include; entry and exit, paddle strokes, river running techniques, and introduction to the kayak (eskimo) roll. These classes will help you enjoy our beautiful Smith River and others as you plan your very own river outing.

If you're looking to get a head start on your kayaking skills and want a warm venue to practice, join us at the Martinsville-Henry County Family YMCA pool.

When registering please give sizes to ensure proper fit for equipment. Contact Eric Juday if you have any questions about the classes.
