Rockcliffe Farm Retreat and Lodge
Concord, VA
Virginia Green is the Commonwealth of Virginia’s campaign to promote environmentally-friendly practices in all aspects of Virginia’s tourism industry. Virginia Green has established "core activities" specific to each sector of tourism, and these practices are considered the required minimum for participation in the program. However, Virginia Green encourages its participants to reduce their environmental impacts in all aspects of their operations, and this profile provides a full list of all their “green” activities. These are the activities that guests / customers can expect to find when they visit this facility.
Rockcliffe Farm Retreat and Lodge
Our Lodge is like a "beach house" in the woods. The Retreat and Lodge were conceived as a means of supporting the property so that the property wouldn't be turned into a subdivision.
We decided to join Virginia Green because we are constantly striving to have less impact on the environment our facility is in and want to encourage others to do the same.
We have been able to put our entire 275 acres into a Forestry Conservation Easement for perpetuity, thus sustaining the forest, wildlife, and wildflowers, and contributing to fresher air and cleaner water for the world. We also take many baby steps, such as cleaning with vinegar, baking soda, and Dawn.
