Virginia Green

Country Inn & Suites by Carlson Newport News South
Newport News, VA

Virginia Green is the Commonwealth of Virginia’s campaign to promote environmentally-friendly practices in all aspects of Virginia’s tourism industry. Virginia Green has established "core activities" specific to each sector of tourism, and these practices are considered the required minimum for participation in the program. However, Virginia Green encourages its participants to reduce their environmental impacts in all aspects of their operations, and this profile provides a full list of all their “green” activities. These are the activities that guests / customers can expect to find when they visit this facility.

Country Inn & Suites by Carlson Newport News South

The Country Inn & Suites by Carlson Newport News South is a 64-room and suite, limited service hotel dedicated to providing travelers with comfortable lodging experiences while inviting guests to help with environmentally-responsible practices.

The Country Inn & Suites by Carlson Newport News South is committed to pollution prevention and decided to join Virginia Green because as local owners, managers, and staff the Hotel recognizes how refuse deposited in landfills or in storm drain run-off negatively impacts the entire Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Its delicate ecosystem is constantly threatened by reckless and irresponsible behaviors. The Hotel hopes that through our small contribution together with other responsible hotels and businesses we can all make a big difference in our immediate environment.

The Hotel staff invites guests to participate in responsible recycling and energy saving activities during and after staying at the Hotel.
