Historical Significance Breckenridge Cabin - -

The Cabin was moved next to the Washington County Library and restored in 1984 by the Washington County Preservation Foundation. Built in 1769, the cabin is considered the oldest documented structure in Washington County. Alexander Breckenridge, an early settler, built this house on the Wolf Hills tract. He fought in the Battle of Kings Mountain, a revolutionary battle won with the help of volunteer militia from Washington County and eastern Tennessee. This is an integral part of heritage education in the community and is open for school and holiday tours.
