Historical Significance View of East Hill from Down town Bristol - -

Since 1857, East Hill Cemetery has been home to many of Bristol's earliest settlers including General Evan Shelby. After being reinterred to the City jail for safe keeping, Shelby was moved once more before finally being buried in the East Hill Cemetery. From the high hill one can enjoy a panoramic view of the city.
