Historical Significance
The OASIS gallery offers a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere for arts activities and shopping. It offers fine quality juried work by local artists and artisans including jewelry, pottery, clothing, fiber art, furniture, bowls, baskets, photography, painting and sculpture. The Shenandoah Council of the Arts formed the artists' cooperative and the gallery is located in historic downtown Harrisonburg. Oasis is the visual arts centerpiece of Harrisonburg's developing arts and cultural district. Exhibits change every two months. Special events include classes, music, and talking with the artists. Oasis Art Gallery Today
The OASIS gallery offers a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere for arts activities and shopping. It offers fine quality juried work by local artists and artisans including jewelry, pottery, clothing, fiber art, furniture, bowls, baskets, photography, painting and sculpture. The Shenandoah Council of the Arts formed the artists' cooperative that operates this gallery in 1999. OASIS, located in a historic downtown art-deco building, is the visual arts centerpiece of Harrisonburg's developing arts and cultural district.
Exhibits change every month. Talk with the artists at an opening reception, held 5-7 pm on the first Friday of each month.
Open Monday through Thursday noon-5 pm, Friday noon-8 pm and Saturday 10 am-5 pm, except major holidays. MC/Visa accepted.
