Historical Significance Olde Virginia Textile Museum - Fess Green, PhD

The Olde Virginia Textiles Museum carries on a long tradition of weaving begun by the Goodwin family in 1812. Here, the visitor can see operating looms from this early period, both hand looms and mechanical. Of particular interest is the Wilderness Road trail blanket which honors the hardy pioneers and may have been used by Daniel Boone. Replicas are available.
