Historical Significance Stuart Hall School - -

The oldest girls' preparatory school in Virginia, Stuart Hall School was founded in 1844 as Virginia Female Institute. Two daughters of General Robert E. Lee attended Stuart Hall as did Juliette Low, founder of the Girl Scouts. Stuart Hall is named in honor of Mrs. J.E.B. Stuart, widow of the famous Confederate general.
