Robert Carter Burwell built Long Branch Plantation (ca. 1811), located in Millwood, VA, with the assistance of a local builder and with the advice of Benjamin Latrobe, one of the architects of the United States Capitol. Today, Long Branch Plantation is working to become the most accessible and cutting-edge historic home in America. The historic site, with its breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, preserves the over 200-year-old plantation home and 400 acres of rural Virginian farmland. Visitors of all ages are encouraged to stop by Long Branch to experience history in a meaningful and memorable way!
In the spirit of historic Virginian hospitality, we cordially invite you and your family to come spend the day with us at Long Branch Plantation. Imagine Long Branch as your home – have a seat in the house, laugh with your family, take in the views, and experience our rich history.
