This brick Georgian-style house was built in 1759 by Thomas Walke III, a prominent Princess Anne County gentryman. His son, Thomas Walke IV, inherited the house as a boy and later voted to ratify the U.S. Constitution as one of two representatives from Princess Anne County at the 1788 Virginia Constitutional Convention. The house is owned and operated by the Princess Anne County/Virginia Beach Historical Society and offers many insights into life in the latter half of the 18th century. Tour length is 30-60 minutes. Bus Parking. The house is open to the public on Wednesdays in July and August.
