Richard Stravitz purchased and renovated this building just minutes from the oceanfront to show and sell his bronze sculptures. Local, regional and international artists are featured, and with more than 7500 square feet, it holds an impressive collection of sculptures, paintings, glass, jewelry and more! With a working studio on the first floor, Stravitz can be found most days sculpting a new masterpiece!
Sculptures are displayed throughout the country in prestigious settings including the US Naval Academy in MD, the Supreme Court Building of VA, the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, The Virginia Historical Society in Richmond, the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA and more. Commissioned to create a life-size bronze sculpture on the boardwalk in Virginia Beach in honor of Josh Thompson and the battle to defeat Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Richard has been dedicated to working towards a cure. A smaller maquette of that statue (Anticipation) is sold in the gallery with a portion of the proceeds donated towards ALS reserarch.
The LOVEworks sign at Stravitz Sculpture & Fine Art was created around a pair of bronze wings to pay homage to one of master sculptor, Richard Stravitz's most beautiful works, "Wings of Grace."
