The Buckhorne features 25 camp sites: five full-hookups with 50 and 30 amp service, 10 water/electric hook-ups with 30 amp service, and nine tent sites (primitive). Also, featured are two camping cabins and a Tag-A-Long Trailer. The campground is located less than 1,000 feet from Douthat State Park, and Wilson Creek, a Virginia designated trout stream, runs through the campground that borders the George Washington National Forest. The Buckhorne has hosted campers from 50 states and 12 foreign countries over the past eight years that the Allens have owned the campground. Easy access off I-64 at exit 27 in Clifton Forge leads travelers on a scenic drive on Route 629 (1.6 miles) to the Buckhorne.
