Twin Lakes State Park, centrally located in Virginia's Piedmont region, provides visitors with a variety of lakefront activities in a secluded setting. Swimming, camping, fishing, canoeing and hiking are popular activities.
Twin Lakes has 33 campsites of various sizes. Each has water and electric hookup (outlets provide 20 and 30-amp current), fire ring and picnic table. Firewood is available for sale in the campground. Two vehicles are allowed per campsite in addition to your camping unit.
Those who prefer "glamping" to camping might prefer to stay in one of the park's climate-controlled cabins. Featuring a kitchen, bathroom, and at least two bedrooms*, each is equipped with a full-size refrigerator, stove, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, dishes, glassware, utensils, and basic pots and pans. Linens are provided but are not changed during your stay. Cabins 9, 10, 11 and the Bowen Lodge are waterfront. From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, cabins are rented by the week. Otherwise, a two-night minimum stay is required. Check-in is 3 p.m., check-out is 10 a.m. Cabins 1, 2 and the Bowen Lodge are ADA accessible. Maximum occupancy and parking vary so please call the park for details.
*The park has a six-bedroom lodge, two three-bedroom cabins and seven two-bedroom cabins.
