Stop by the Ashland Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings for the freshest Hanover-grown produce. Enjoy a variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, honey and flowers. The Farmer's Market is located in downtown Ashland. Open May to November. Just 15 miles north of Richmond, in Hanover County, Ashland is only 90 minutes away from Washington, D.C. and Williamsburg. A turn-of-the-century railroad town, Ashland was originally developed by the RF&P Railroad as a resort for Richmonders. Today the railroad tracks still send trains rumbling through the center of town, past Randolph-Macon College, lovely historic homes, shops and unique eateries. Directions: From I-95, take exit 92. Head west on Route 54 towards Ashland. When the road Vs, the Town Hall will be directly in front of you. Veer left and take the next right onto Duncan Street.
