DAY 1 -P.M. Arrive in Norfolk and enjoy a Welcome Dinner at a restored Abbey.
Day 2 - This morning we’ll tour the Norfolk Naval Station, homeport of the awesome Atlantic Fleet. Later take a tram ride and stroll through the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. Enjoy lunch while visiting the Botanical Gardens. This afternoon visit the Chrysler Museum of Art. Dine this evening at a popular seafood restaurant. If your travels bring you here during Spring, enjoy the International Tattoo, a spectacle of military splendor, from our reserved seats.
Day 3 -Tour Nauticus, an exciting science and technology center exploring the sea. See the grand International Azalea Festival Parade from reserved seats. Step aboard the USS Wisconsin, one of the largest Battleships ever built. Enjoy lunch at MacArthur Mall or Waterside Festival Marketplace. Tour the Douglas MacArthur Memorial. Dine this evening aboard the Spirit of Norfolk.
Day 4 – Tour the Casemate Museum at Fort Monroe. Tour Jamestown Settlement and Museum. Lunch at Jamestown today. Tour the Mariners’ Museum. Enjoy dinner and entertainment at the historic Boxwood Inn, Newport News.
Day 5 -Spend the day in Colonial Williamsburg and free time to explore, shop, and browse. Enjoy lunch in a Colonial Tavern. Take a tour of Yorktown Victory Center. Dine this evening in a Colonial Tavern.
Day 6 - Richmond, Take a guided tour of Richmond including the Virginia State Capitol Building designed by Thomas Jefferson, St. John’s Church where Patrick Henry said “give me liberty or give me death”, Monument Avenue, and more. Have lunch in the trendy Shockoe Slip district. Tour one of America’s Castles, Maymont Mansion and gardens, a gilded age treasure.
Day 7 -Tour Monticello, the mountain top home of Thomas Jefferson. The Monticello Visitor Center includes a wonderful film, galleries, gift shop, café, courtyard, and more. Enjoy lunch in historic Michie Tavern. This afternoon visit Montpelier, the home of James and Dolley Madison. Shop and browse the downtown pedestrian mall of Charlottesville or just resting and relaxing at the hotel.
Day 8 – UVA, Departures, Enjoy a continental breakfast. Stop for a photo opportunity of the Rotunda and Academical Village at the University of Virginia, founded and designed by Thomas Jefferson.
