The “L”,”V”, and “E” letters are made of fallen Hackberry wood from Strasburg’s Town Park.
Representing features of some of our historic buildings in Strasburg, the letters were put together with a centuries-old traditional timber framing technique with a mortise and tenon joint and then secured with a wood peg (treenail).
The bases of these letters are made with a mosaic of Strasburg Pottery shards. The pottery industry in Strasburg began circa 1761 with at least seventeen potters producing earthen and stoneware commercially.
The “O “is a culvert that was donated by developers of the Summit Crossing.
We invite you to discover the different sides of Strasburg!
