"Explore Nelson County Wines". Mountain Cove founded in 1973 is one of Virginia's wine pioneers. A family-run farm and winery and we delight in showing you how we grow and make wines. Tasting and tours are free, and all our wines, as well as a nice selection of wine-related gifts, are on sale in our shop. The route to our winery offers spectacular views of apple orchards on the mountainside. We have picnic facilities and are available for special events and group tours. Closed January and February. Space is also available for meetings and special events. Total space available: Outdoors - 1,200 sq. ft and indoors 500 sq. ft.
