Love Floyd in the Fall

Day 1:
Experience the efforts of five beverage makers at The Tasting Room, Floyd's newest cooperative on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Visit Morrisette and Villa Appalaccia wineries and join a tour group for inside information on winemaking. Participate in wine tastings and come home with a souvenir wine glass. Enjoy new American cuisine at Chateau Morrisette's restaurant. Drive into Floyd, only 20 minutes away and experience blue grass music at its earthiest at The Floyd Country Store on Friday night. Oddfella's Cantina is nearby. You'll find Floyd County-raised beef on the menu and more live music. Day 2:
Enjoy breakfast at Tuggle's Gap Restaurant before heading out to Blacksnake Meadery and Foggy Ridge Cider. They offer tastings and information on hard cider, heirloom apples, bees and honey wine. Hike nearby Buffalo Mountain or trails along Rock Castle Gorge. Relax over lunch at Chateau Morrisette, or picnic on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Day 3:
Floyd offers a wide variety of shopping and strolling opportunities. You will experience a diversity of cultures just by sitting on a park bench for 30 minutes. Soak in the quaint charm and atmosphere of this mountain jewel. Drive to West Wind Farm Winery and complete your in-depth review of The Tasting Room beverage makers. Sunday Sounds at Chateau Morrisette features local musicians on the lawn from 1 until 4 pm with food and wine at the Courtyard Grill or bring your own picnic. A lavish brunch buffet is also available in the restaurant and reservations are requested.
