Virginia State Parks

One Of The Greatest State Park Systems In The Country

For more than 85 years, Virginia’s state parks have been the backdrop for perfect family vacations. Families find Virginia’s 42 state parks as diverse as the state itself, with parks found along the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay, on historic sites, in the Blue Ridge Mountains and just outside of major cities. The parks have thousands of campsites, hundreds of cabins, more than 700 miles of trails and convenient access to Virginia's major waterways.

Most state parks offer campsites, some with with hookups - electricity, water and sewer - as well as climate-controlled cabins.

Parks also offer many special events, ranging from demonstrations on campfire cooking to weekend-long festivals that draw guests from all over the state. Find your next adventure at a Virginia State Park below.
