August is Virginia Craft Beer Month and we want to toast to all the amazing breweries in Virginia!
Post a video or picture on Instagram of a “toast” to your favorite Virginia beer or brewery using #ToastVA and #VACraftbeer, then pass the [virtual] mic by tagging a friend and inviting them to do the same! Weekly winners with the best ‘Toast to Virginia’ will be chosen throughout August to win some sweet Virginia is for Craft Beer Lovers swag.
What’s A Toast? It’s an open interpretation, but stirring salutes, songs, tributes and pint pics are all options. Photos, gifs, videos and Boomerangs are welcome. Follow #ToastVA and #VACraftBeer on Instagram for a few ideas.
Virginia is truly for Craft Beer Lovers, travelers and craft breweries nationwide are taking notice. In the last decade, the Virginia craft beer scene has exploded, creating social spots in cities across the state where travelers can soak in some local flavor. This statewide craft beer scene developed some award winning small businesses, but also piqued the interest of nationally recognized larger craft brewers. In the last two years, Stone Brewing, Deschutes Brewing Company and Green Flash Brewing have all decided to open East Coast locations in Virginia including top-notch tasting rooms. Whether you want to hire a driver, taste flights and compare flavors at more than one brewery or enjoy a pint after a brisk hike, Virginia can provide the perfect local beer.
Want to make a day of it? Find a craft beer trail in your area to visit several breweries all within a few miles of each other. Just announced August 16th, Virginia's newest brewery trail, Southwest Virginia Mountain Brew Trail, in and around the city of Bristol.
Many breweries allow pets on their patio or other designated outdoor areas. Vaccinated, friendly, and leashed dogs are welcome outside, but not in tasting rooms. Due to the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) law, pets must remain outside the tasting room at all times. Dogs must kept on a leash or within a pet carrier and under the control of their owner at all times.
Please designate a driver. Drink responsibly.
