“America's National Maritime Museum”

The Mariners’ Museum and Park connects people to world’s waters because that is how we are connected to one another. Regardless of who or where we are, we are united as one global community through our shared maritime heritage. Everyone has a tie to the water, whether through career, family, or leisure, and The Mariners' Museum and Park is here to tell your story. We are your museum.

The Museum is filled with fascinating stories, captured in priceless artifacts that celebrate the spirit of the open sea. Explore small craft from around the world. Discover intricate ship models and encounter maritime art throughout each of the galleries. Catch a movie in the Explorers Theater.

The Museum sits on a 550-acre park, one of the nation’s largest privately maintained parks that is free and open to the public. Visitors can hike the Noland Trail, picnic at the famous Lions Bridge overlooking the tranquil James River, and discover all 14 wooden bridges.

The Mariners’ Museum and Park hosts a variety of special events throughout the year, including family programs, lectures, wine tastings, outdoor festivals, and many more fun activities. For a schedule of events, visit MarinersMuseum.org.
