Participants will use the book, First Lessons in Beekeeping by Keith S. Delaplane, along with many additional resources, lectures, and a field tour in this five-part series designed for those interested in starting a beekeeping operation.

Jan 30: Basic Biology and Equipment (Patrick Ferrer, Vice President, Pittsylvania County Beekeepers Association and Sales Manager at Dadant & Sons, Inc.)
Feb 6: Getting Started/Early Season (Patrick Ferrer)
Feb 13: Harvesting / Late Season (Berry Hines)
Feb 20: Managing Pests, Disorders, and Parasites (Mike Rogers)
Mar 3: Field Day in the Hive, weather permitting
