Historic Alexandria Museum Educator Kristy Huettner will describe how Hannah Griffith used her status, industriousness, and experience as a "deputy husband" during the Revolution to make a new life for herself and eight young children in the late 18th century. After being widowed in 1789, she operated the prestigious Alexandria Coffee-House, which is one of the buildings now part of Gadsby's Tavern Museum.
