Explore the art of “Tanigble: Where Art and Technology Converge” with artist Jordan Fowler.
“Artifacts of a different time” is one of the phrases that artist Jordan Fowler uses to describe his sculptures. Fowler combines traditional welding techniques with contemporary computer science to create interactive and conceptual works of art that echo the ruins of a science fiction world gone awry.
This event is FREE and will encompass an artist demo and gallery talk.
The Artist Demo will be conducted by artist Jordan Fowler beginning at 1pm on Sunday, May 9th, followed by our regularly scheduled Tours at 2pm Gallery Talk with the Artist, Jordan Fowler.
• Projection Mapping Demonstration
Demonstrate the technique used in several of the gallery pieces on a small sculpture with a projector. Preview of the programs used to make it work.
• Programming example: “Graphting”
Demonstrate how simple lines of code produces the branching pattern in Graphting.
• Generative Form Example: “FIG Column”
Demonstrate how 3d forms can be generated from code and become tangible.
