Now Playing: New Forms in Contemporary Glass
May 2 – October 13, 2019
The “drama of discovery” came to define the early days of the Studio Glass movement as artists transitioned the material of glass from functional object to sculptural. Now Playing: New Forms in Contemporary Glass examines where the dramatic element of glassmaking is leading artists working today. Highlighting work from the the Chrysler Museum of Art and Perry Glass Studio in Norfolk, VA, this exhibition encourages an expansive view of the process and purpose of making.
Now Playing: New Forms in Contemporary Glass was organized by the William King Museum of Art.
Funding for this exhibition has been provided by
The Rea Charitable Trust.
