JAW-DROPPING & GRIN-CAUSING PHOTOS: 16th annual nature photography expo, staged by eight nonprofit camera clubs in the Washington DC metro area, features classes taught by expert photographers and a free photography exhibit. It's the ‘go-to’ event for Mid-Atlantic photographers because it provides the best value in photography education and attract the best photography educators nationwide.
The juried exhibit includes 300 nature photos & 150 "Photo Art" entries. Some photos taken by members of the sponsoring camera clubs are for sale. Participants can attend eight free classes and 38 fee-based seminars and hands-on photo sessions led by expert photographers. They can also register to have their photos critiqued by many well-known photographers. Nationally known photographer Matt Kloskowski kicks off the expo with a workshop on landscape photography. International and local vendors include District Camera, Canon, and Nikon. Keynote speaker Melissa Groo is a wildlife photographer, conservationist, and ethicist, whose photos have been published in numerous books and magazines, such as Smithsonian and Audubon.
