May 2018 marks Hiddencroft’s 10th year as a Virginia winery. Hiddencroft Vineyards is situated on a secluded, 1850's German farmstead. Our farmhouse tasting room is surrounded by butterfly gardens, our vineyard and orchards. Open year-round, the farmhouse has two tasting counters with a view of the backyard, Dutchman’s Creek and period log out-buildings. The upper floor of the farmhouse has seating in three rooms for 25. A large deck seats 30 under colorful umbrellas, with an open view of the vineyard. Our large patio and massive fire-pit provide additional seating in Spring & Summer and fireside ambiance in cool weather.
The red wines see plenty of barrel time…between 22 and 42 months. The white wines are complex and show the characteristics of the terroir…fruit, flowers and spice. Novelty wines of unusual flavors such as blueberry, cherry, apple, pomegranate and blackberry make appearances on the tasting menu as well. We have recently expanded our tasting list to include several port-style wines as well.
The location is a short drive from the winery corridors along Rt. 15 and Rt. 9 in Loudoun County, VA and convenient to Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania wine lovers as well! The atmosphere is friendly, casual and relaxing.
