The Waynesboro Heritage Museum is home to nine galleries depicting the story of Waynesboro, a rotating exhibit gallery and an audiovisual room. Permanent panels within each gallery reiterate the City’s history from the early Teesville (Teasville) and early namesake of Waynesboro, Brigadier General Anthony Wayne; Basic City, Railroad, Education, Industry, Memorable Waynesboro, Postcard Gallery, Fishburne Drug Store, and early Banks of Waynesboro. The pleasant journey begins with a Welcome to Waynesboro, a gift shop and panels of the history of the building itself and the Waynesboro Coat of Arms. The revolving exhibit gallery will enhance the permanent galleries by showing more artifacts and educational pieces. Currently on display in the temporary exhibit is Locust Isle: The Patrick Estate Collection. The Heritage Museum offers a free research station for anyone to search our collection database or ask our staff questions!
