Offering adventure education based on the beliefs that academic learning can't and shouldn't be limited to what happens inside school walls. Authentic learning is an adventure in and of itself -- or it should be.
Providing suggested itineries for groups, including but not limited to independent schools & homeschools, boy scout and girl scout troops.
In addition to overnight trips, we provide half-day, full-day and unit based study in a variety of academic disciplines including...maps & navigation (math, problem-solving), engineering (scientific method, experimental design), wilderness survival, environmental education hands-on activites, forest ecology, local and regional watersheds and water quality monitoring activites, integrative units of study based on novels, tree and plant identification, caves & karst (geology), questing/letterboxing, team-building activities, energy activities (renewable & nonrenewable), nature writing -- including nature journals & nature poetry, Leave No Trace principles, Appalachian Trail -- history, culture, etc. and many others
We also provide instruction for a variety of Merit, Junior and Cadette badges including backpacking, camping, cooking, wilderness survival, orienteering, environmental science, camper, trailblazing, gardener, flowers, trees, geocacher and night owl.
