Bypass the hassle of traditional parking and take a slip close to the action. Riverwalk Landing's main pier is 395 feet long and 20 feet wide. It's located at the foot of Ballard Street and can accommodate tall ships, large and small motor and sailing vessels, and regional cruise lines. Boaters can also access a second pier behind Riverwalk Restaurant—not too far from the Coleman Bridge. That pier accommodates smaller craft such as day-trippers and pleasure boaters who want to check out the restaurants and shops. There are also several seasonal events to explore including free outdoor concerts in the summer, Saturday farmers markets, and a wine festival in the fall.
The fishing pier is open year-round. It's free to the public and is wheelchair accessible. Whether you're a local or visiting from out of state—you don't need a license to fish here. The pier is also a great stop for sightseeing. Just off the dock is the deepest water of the York River. In addition to fevers of sting rays and pods of dolphins, you may also get lucky and see a Navy destroyer, submarine, or other large vessel pass through the channel on any given day!
