The gallery for Alicia Daily's stoneware pottery and artwork is located on a small horse farm in Goode, VA. The pottery is created there in the studio, and is on display there near the barn. Visitors are welcome to view the horses that were born there or are in training, as well as young riders learning the art of eventing- with it's triathlon of dressage, stadium jumping, and cross-country.
The pottery is hand thrown on a wheel by Alicia , and then inscribed into the leather hard clay. After the first firing, the inlaid lines are stained and then color is added to create a unique clay article. The pieces are created to be utilitarian -- pots are meant to be cooked in, served on, and enjoyed in use. The designs are mainly equestrian, but you can also find chickens, corgis, and other dogs, foxes, and scripture. And some of the pottery is just pretty.
Call or come by and enjoy an interesting home and creative place.
