The Shenandoah Marketplace is a 100% grass roots volunteer effort to make high quality, locally grown, produced and handmade goods easily accessible to the community while providing vendors a mechanism to directly market their goods.
We have a pending application to enable The Shenandoah Marketplace to accept SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program) benefits as payment which makes the market a viable option for all.
Please "buy local" and watch the multiplier effect do its thing. What is the "multiplier effect"?
- Money spent locally helps small independent businesses who in turn buy supplies, inventory and machinery from other local businesses as demand for products/services increases.
- As businesses grow, local jobs are created.
- Working people have money to spend in their community and the cycle continues!
It is an important cycle, especially in rural America. Money spent outside of your town limits stays outside of your town limits. Money spent inside of your town limits directly benefits YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD.
